Somerdale Shed

Somerdale Shed is your community shed serving the people of Somerdale, Keynsham and the surrounding area. The shed is a multi-function space and community garden where adults of all ages, ability and gender can participate in all manner of creative and social activities at their own pace in a friendly, supportive environment. The aim of Somerdale Shed is to make friends and be creative, which in turn promotes personal well-being as well as combating loneliness and isolation.

Somerdale Shed was conceived by the Somerdale Pavilion in March 2017 when the old Fry’s cricket pavilion was allocated to a group of volunteers to convert it into a community shed. Today the shed boasts facilities for woodworking, crafting, furniture restoration, gardening, and more. Everyone is welcome to come to the shed to see what goes on and to join in.

Opening times:

Wednesdays & Saturdays from 10am
Tuesday evenings from 6pm

Sessions have the following broad themes: the Shedders Group; the Stay Curious Group; the Make & Mend Group; and The Gardening Group.

The Somerdale Shed is a self-funded project and as more members join will be able to open on more days and form new groups. If you have an idea for the shed or for fundraising opportunities please do let the team know. Somerdale Shed is associated with the Keynsham Repair Cafe and can undertake some furniture repairs etc. in return for a donation to shed funds.
